Italian Holiday Tuscany
Posted on 22 October 2010
Tuscany Italy is one of the most visited parts of the world, and it isn’t hard to see why. This charming part of the world offers some of the most dazzling scenery as well as world famous cities.
Not only that, it offers one of the best culinary experiences one could ask for. Traditional Italian dishes include pasta, cured and fresh meats, and very fine wine.
The countryside consists mainly of green hills and pastures spotted with small friendly towns. You will also find vineyards and wineries all over the place, surrounded by olive trees. While in the country there are many activities to participate in. You can go hiking, walking, camping, or even sky-diving! You can also do many water sports to the East in the Mediterranean Sea or North in any of the famous Italian lakes.
When you go to the cities you will find that there is a lot to do as well. Every city offers great restaurants. bars, and museums. Each city also has its own unique selection of things to offer as well. In Florence you can visit the church the Duomo and the David by Michelangelo.
Pisa obviously is very famous for its leaning tower (although it is a very small city otherwise).
Siena has the famous plaza in the middle of the city. Milan is a thriving metropolis with some of the hottest nightspots in the world. It is also the home of the painting The Last Supper. And these are only the most famous cities; the other smaller ones have other lesser known treasures waiting to be explored!
If you are doing an Italian holiday, be sure to dedicate some time to the holiday Tuscany part. You will need at least ten days to make all the major stops and see all the biggest sites.
Be sure to take lots of pictures, as it will surely be one of the most memorable vacations of your life!
